What You Can Do To Cure Baby Acne

You could not explain the joys of having a baby and is only logical that you want to shower them with all the cares and love in the world, protect them from all possible harm, and provide them the best that you could give. But sometimes we may be worried that we see that their cheeks are rough with small bumps and may seem irritated or that sometimes, the redness is not there but still, their cheeks appear to be rough.

These irritations on the cheeks of your baby are called baby acne and you do not have to panic because there are a lot that you could do to cure and prevent them. There are many medications for baby acne that you may buy over-the-counter and it is also important for you to understand what may be the cause of it.

The Reason For Irritation

One of the reasons why your baby has baby acne on the cheeks is because of the connection of your body to the baby. During the last stages of your pregnancy, your hormones crosses or travels through the placenta in your baby which in turn causes stimulation in the oil glands of your babys skin.

Fresh irritation or bumps of baby acne may be present during after the birth but usually, they disappear after three or four weeks. Baby acne occurs mostly on the cheeks but could also be common in appearing on the babys forehead and neck. Sometimes, whiteheads may be present on to your babys skin but this skin condition may come and go during the age of four to six months old.

What You Could Do

To cure and prevent baby acne, what you could do is use gentle detergents when washing baby clothes and other baby accessories that he or she is always using. Having contact with a cloth that has been washed with harsh detergents or saliva and milk that he or she has spilled, the condition tends to worsen for several weeks so it is better to avoid them. Also remember that baby acne usually occurs when your baby is feeling hot or fussy affecting his or her skin by increasing the blood flow.

What you could do to cure the baby acne is to wash his or her face with a gentle cloth daily with water and mild soap. If it seems like the irritation was not relieved after six months, you may consult your doctor for medication. However, there are lotions and creams that you could buy over-the-counter from the drugstores but it will not be of help but only worsen the irritation so if you want to use the best medication for it, you must first consult his or her pediatrician.

Here are some of the most common types of acne that you do not need to go to a doctor to treat:Whiteheads: also known as pimples, zits or spots. `
